August events at Hatch – Hatch

It’s hotting up at Hatch this summer with a full calendar of events throughout August. We’ve worked hard to make sure there’s something for everyone with everything from resident DJ’s playing in the courtyard every Friday and Saturday night + Sunday daytimes, to more comedy and open mic nights, to Morning Gloryville featuring Crazy P’s Danielle Moore (YES, THE DANIELLE MOORE FROM CRAZY P!) and free to enter family movies showing on a big screen.

All this plus food, drink, drink, indie shopping and places to get your hair snipped, your shoes cleaned…head down to discover all of the amazing traders who call Hatch home and to experience some of our August highlights.

The line-up

Friday 2nd August: Art Therapy Sessions, 6-10pm, free entry

A focus on art and some of the fantastic creatives that call Manchester home. There will be live artwork, artists selling their unique work and DJ’s.

Saturday 3rd August: We are Hatch – The Retail Collective + pop-up market, 11am-6pm, free entry

A day to celebrate our great selection of independent retailers at Hatch with special workshops, DJ’s, food, drink and more!

Our resident retailer Shop Small has reached out to some amazing local makers from the Etsy community to create a pop-up one day market, showcasing their goods. There will be an eclectic mix of stalls featuring a selection of unique goods and our resident Hatch retailers will be offering workshops and added extras.

Sunday 4th August (and every Sunday): Lazy Sundays + Sunday Sessions, 12-6pm, free entry

Looking for somewhere to have a chilled Sunday afternoon? Join us for food and drink from all of our resident traders and a mix of perfectly chilled music to provide the soundtrack. 4th August, 4-5pm: live acoustic music from Paul Silve. 11th Aug, DJ set from Brent Woodall 1-5pm. 18th Aug – DJ set from Chris Maude (The Devil’s Jukebox) 1-5pm. 25th August – Greatest Showman singalong screening (keep reading for more info).

Friday 9th August: Comedy Night 8-10pm, free entry

Curated by Maisy Whipp – chair of the University of Salford’s Comedy Society showcasing new and up and coming comedy talent, held in the upstairs of Number 8 cocktail bar.

Saturday 10th and 24th August: Namaste it’s Saturday, 10:15-11:15am, £8 per person

Hatha/vinyasa yoga classes every other Saturday from 10:15-11:15am. Mats can be provided on request. E-mail or send a Facebook message to @flexyogamcr book a place.

Friday 16th August: Celebrate National Rum Day at Hatch with Diableese Rum, 3-10pm, free entry

In conjunction with local brand Diablesse Rum, Hatch will have a Carribbean feel throughout the afternoon and evening. Our resident ice cream aficionados The Ice Alchemists will be creating rum infused ice cream rolls from the hatches at vin-yard. And Choc will be on hand to whip up rum infused chocolate drinks – either a cool frappe or hot chocolate depending on the weather!

Saturday 17th August: Morning Gloryville, 7-11am, find out more and grab your ticket here

On Saturday 17th August we’re super excited to welcome Morning Gloryville back for a morning of high energy music, yoga classes, morning massage & energy healing, healthy food & organic treats, entertainment and a dancefloor for you to let go and be free with no judgement!

Hatch will be transformed in line with the CARNIVAL theme and to add to the excitement, the Morning Gloryville team have secured DJ Danielle Moore, the face of Crazy P to play an exclusive DJ set. We can’t wait! The whole family are welcome with 0-5s going free and tickets for 6-12 year olds available for just £5. There’s no better way to start your day.

22nd, 23rd and 25th August: Family friendly screenings of Lego Batman, Matilda and a Greatest Showman singalong! Tickets will be available through Eventbrite soon.

Thursday 22nd August
Lego Batman Movie – showing from 1-3pm. Hire a deckchair for just £5 to guarantee your place, chill with the family and treat yourselves to some tasty treats and drinks whilst watching the Lego heroes in action.

Friday 23rd August
The family friendly films continue with Matilda on the big screen 1pm-3pm plus there will be a range of entertainment and fun for the kids, all to be announced soon. Deck chair hire £5 as above.

Saturday 24th August
No film screenings on this day but head to Hatch to eat, drink and shop and make Hatch part of your post Pride parade celebrations!

Sunday 25th August
Hatch will be transformed into the Big Top with The Greatest Showman singalong kicking off between 2-4pm. £10 per deckchair.

Each day there’ll also be extra entertainment to keep the kids entertained with everything from face painting and crafts, through to photo opps with some of the best loved – or disliked – characters from the films. There’ll even be a circus ringmaster on hand to lead the fun at the singalong. Plus a number of pop-ups including one from ‘Cheesecake Fairy’ who’ll be running workshops to decorate your very own cakes. Hatch’s resident trader The Ice Alchemists will also be running a toppings table where adults and kids alike can get creative and design their own ice cream rolls to eat during the performance (priced at £3).

To guarantee a seat there will be a limited number of deck chairs available to hire for each screening set up in prime position for the best view of the films, but there’ll also be plenty of room around the rest of Hatch to perch at tables.

Wednesday 28th August: Open mic night with Izzie Walsh, from 7pm, free entry

Our much loved monthly event, head down to see the fantastically talented singer songwriter Izzie Walsh introduce 10 fab new acts.
